Cengiz Enerji was established in 2000 with Cengiz Holding’s decision to invest in energy. The company is engaged in project management, consultancy, sales, marketing and distribution services as well as construction, installation and operation of standard or combined cycle power plants in addition to energy sales agreements.

Cengiz Enerji has 850 MW of licensed installed capacity with the following plants.

• Samsun 240 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant
• Samsun 600 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant

Completed and ongoing projects which include engineering, construction, assembly, installation and commissioning services are as follows.

With an efficiency of 61%, Samsun Natural Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant is the most efficient and fastest built natural gas fired power plant of its kind in the world. The construction of the world’s most efficient natural gas-fired power plant was completed 9 months before schedule, breaking the record for the fastest built natural gas-fired power plant in the world. The Samsun Natural Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant was presented with the Grand Prize in the “Best Large-Scale Natural Gas Power Plant” category at the 2015 Powergen Europe Fair and Conference and also received the “Top Plant” award from POWER Magazine.

CENAL Elektrik Üretim A.Ş., 50% of which is owned by Cengiz Holding A.Ş. and another 50% by Alarko Holding A.Ş., was established on 11.05.2011 for construction and operation of “CENAL Power Plant Fueled by Imported Coal with a Port, Ash Land Fill Site and Deep Sea Discharge Project” with an installed capacity of 1320 MWe (2X660 MWe) / 1380 MWm / 2926 MWt in Çanakkale’s Biga district, Karabiga town, Kadıoğlu on a space of 454,518 m² on parcel 6759 (formerly 5229 and 5230).

For this project, the “Environmental Impact Assessment Report” was issued by the Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning with the number 2506 on 09.05.2012 and “Production License” was issued by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority with the number EÜ/4315-42/02574 on 20.03.2013.

The plant was designed for operating 7500 hours a year and a gross annual power production of 9,900,000 MWh. The plant will make significant contributions in meeting the increasing energy demand of Turkey. Reliable and high-quality energy will attract foreign investments to Turkey, help the country’s industries develop, create new jobs in the private sector and help increase the national income.
